Mahindra Truck and Bus division, which is a part of the $17.8 billion Mahindra Group, launched their latest series of Heavy Commercial Vehicles under a new brand name called the Blazo, in Bengaluru. Note that it was first announced at the Delhi Auto Expo held earlier this year. The Blazo series is quite versatile as it includes haulage, tractor trailer and tipper type of heavy commercial trucks suiting the different needs of the Indian truckers.
Heart of the Blazo series is the FuelSmart technology that Mahindra boasts about. It is designed to provide mileage and power at the touch of a switch. The foundation for this is the introduction of the mPower FuelSmart CRDe engine with Multi-drive mode feature. There are three intelligent drive modes that can be changed by the driver as per the load and terrain conditions - Turbo mode for transporting big loads over steep inclines, Heavy mode for carrying full load, and Light mode when running without load. Each mode ensures to squeeze out the maximum efficiency from the engine and gives an advantage in terms of excellent mileage.
Apart from this, MTBD has also announced two specific guarantees:
Speaking to the media at the launch, Nalin Mehta, CEO, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division, said,
The launch of the Blazo series of trucks comes at a crucial juncture where there seems to be a natural inclination towards trucks that offer better mileage, low maintenance, superior safety and better driver comfort. MTBD expects brisk business owing to BS IV norms brought by the Indian government and their series of trucks being BS IV compliant. The Blazo series is launched at a price range of 20 Lacs INR to 33 Lacs INR (ex-showroom).
