A8 L Security is the most secure armored Audi ever

The Frankfurt Motor Show for the year 2015 has been completed successfully. A lot of interesting automobiles have been showcased. Audi has introduced A8 L Security sedan, which is tipped to be the most secure car ever produced by the German OEM.

The safety cell (area which will be occupied by people) of the car integrates extremely resistant materials – aramide fabric, special aluminum alloys and a hot-formed steel armor that offers even more protection, despite its lower weight. Each unit is manufactured in a top-secret plant.

The vehicle includes an armored communication box in the luggage compartment. Passengers can use the intercom system to communicate with the outside world when the windows are up. It consists of a loudspeaker in the front grille, and interior and exterior microphones. Selective door unlocking is used to securely open doors from the interior.

The emergency exit system can come in handy during an emergency. By pressing a sealed switch, the passenger can make a swift exit - the pyrotechnic fracture bolts in the separate the door from the vehicle body.

The fire extinguishing system can be activated at the push of a button. It will automatically be activated if the heat sensor detects a need. The two extinguisher containers are mounted in the luggage compartment. On activation, the extinguishing agent flows through pipes and secures the wheel arches, underbody, fuel tank, and the engine compartment.

There is also an emergency fresh-air system in place. At the push of a button, the interior of the car is filled with clean, breathing air via the vents.

As part of the security start feature, one can start the engine remotely by a radio signal.

The reinforced aluminium side sills and armor-plated floor (made of a special aluminum alloy) give the car the ability to withstand a military-level hand grenade attack.

A special glass with a splinter-inhibiting polycarbonate layer is used on the inside for the door windows, windshield and rear window. A doorstop function holds the door in any desired position.

Its quattro drive is a USP in the armored security vehicle segment. It is the only car with all-wheel-drive among luxury sedans that are offered directly from an automotive OEM.

As of today, the car is available for ordering. Delivery begins in spring next year.

With all these features, it is like a real-life James Bond car!
