Honda launched the Amaze in the year 2013 with a lot of fan fare as it was the first Honda car to be powered by a diesel engine. The sales sky rocketed thanks to its good design, practicality and the Honda Quality and Assurance. After 3 years, Honda has incorporated a facelift to one of its top selling cars in India to keep in line with the present times.
The new Amaze too sports the current Honda design language with the big razor chrome grille in the front that is already seen in the City and Mobilio. It also gets a new front bumper and fog lamp holding section. Reports suggest that the dashboard and interiors of the car are going to be borrowed from the Mobilio. It would also continue to provide Honda's touch screen infotainment system with navigation support. Honda can really get an edge over its rivals if it can make safety features like airbags and ABS standard across all models.
We expect the Amaze to be powered by the same 1.2 litre I-VTEC engine and 1.5 litre I-DTEC engine with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Also the price of the car is expected to rise.
The facelift version is expected to be launched on March 3rd, 2016. Stay tuned to MotorFry for more updates.
