Its raining SUVs' this season. Yet another automotive giant, Maruti Suzuki, look to test the sub-4 metre compact SUV segment this year with their latest offering - Vitara Brezza. The teaser is already out on YouTube and is also being aired on most TV channels. It has garnered a lot of hype over the past week. The big question is will it match the hype and expectations? All eyes are now glued to the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 for the unveiling of the Brezza.
First impressions suggest that the Brezza is a stylish looking SUV with a big chrome grill and projector headlamps in the front, and well rounded tail lights at the rear. It is likely to get 5 spoke, 16 inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, all black interiors, SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple Car Play, reverse parking camera with sensors, cruise control, push start feature to name a few. Safety features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD is set to make the SUV safer to drive.
Reports suggest that the Vitara Brezza is initially expected to be launched with the 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine that delivers 90 PS of power and 200 NM of torque. This engine was earlier also seen on the Ciaz, but we expect the Maruti engineers to have calibrated the engine to make the drive more exciting and SUV like.
The Brezza is likely to be placed at a price bracket of 7 to 10 lakhs INR (ex showroom). This is sure to create a lot of competition in this segment.
