Nissan has finally decided to lift the curtains from the GT-R Track Edition. It is the based on the Nissan GT-R 2017 model that was displayed at the New York International Auto Show held earlier this year.
Nissan's Motorsport division, commonly referred to as NISMO, has engineered this beast. It is designed to deliver a higher level of performance when compared to its standard variant. Major modifications include a race-tuned setup to optimise stability, Bilstein Damptronic suspension and a lightweight anti-roll bar to reduce weight and increase body stiffness.
Also, the front bumper is now wider. NISMO Racing Black forged 20-inch aluminium wheels are deployed. The vehicle features a new aerodynamic exterior design.
The engine used is the same as that of the 2017 model - a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 hand-assembled. The only difference being the output! It develops 570 PS (562 hp/419 kW) instead of 565 PS (557 hp/415 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft.) of torque compared to 633 Nm (467 lb-ft.).
The interiors of the car are premium. There is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with 11-speaker sound system from Bose.
Attached to the dashboard is a unique carbon-made Track Edition badge.
There are a few market-specific features as well. Germans will get carbon-backed Recaro seats as standard, while the customers in UK and France will receive the black and red GT-R Black Edition Recaro seats fitted While the carbon rear spoiler will be optional for Germany, UK and France will receive it as standard.
The new Nissan GT-R Track Edition is priced at €1,18,900 ($1,33,800 approx.). The deliveries are expected to start sometime in November this year.
