Off-late, the Indian automotive segment is buzzing with the word "electric". Be it the Ather's electric scooter "S340" or Mahindra's electric car "e-Verito", there seems to be a well-constructed approach to providing mobility solutions that are quick, efficient, stylish and seemingly clean. Now, the new kid on the block, Tork Motor's first commercial motorcycle, the T6X does not disappoint in any of these aspects. The Pune-based company claim that the T6X was indigenously built as a result of seven years of extensive R & D, to couple the best in class aspects of traditional motorcycles with the latest technology.
Sharing his thoughts on their first offering for the Indian market, Mr Kapil Shelke, Founder & Director, Tork Motors Pvt Ltd said:
Commenting on the overall market scenario and conducive government policy framework, Mr Shelke further added,
In the first phase, Tork Motors plan to launch the T6X in Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi and look to cater to pan India in the long run. They are also working towards building a robust charging infrastructure. The brand has already set up six charging points in Pune and aims to take the number to 100 by the end of the year.

Commenting on the overall market scenario and conducive government policy framework, Mr Shelke further added,
Government of India's National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 aims to put seven million electric and hybrid vehicles on Indian roads by 2020. This mission was further complemented by the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) and Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme announced in April last year, which will provide Rs.795 crore assistance to electronic vehicle makers till 2020. By 2030, the government is aiming to make India a 100% EV nation. As a result of these policy frameworks, the sales of electric vehicles (EV) grew by nearly 38% in the last financial year. Total EV sales for the fiscal 2015-16 stood at 22,000 units (20,000 two wheelers and 2,000 four-wheelers) as compared to 16,000 EVs sold during 2014-15, according to Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles. in addition to the conducive policy framework firing up growth in the segment, declining lithium ion battery prices that have gone down by approximately 50% over the last 3 years, has enabled us to work upon a competitive price point for T6X. We are looking at selling close to 5,000-10,000 units each year for the first three years.
Going by well-sought ingredients like striking design, cool graphics, efficient power management and smart feature list, Tork Motors seem to have made the perfect bike in T6X. However, any successful recipe seems incomplete without an affordable price. Tork Motors have offered the T6X at an irresistible launch price of 1.25 lacs INR. The zero-cost pre-booking option is an icing on the cake.
