BMW M4 CS is yet another exclusive limited edition model under the M4 series of cars. The vehicle sits between M4 Coupe with Competition Package and M4 GTS and will be built at the company's Munich plant. It is on display at Auto Shanghai 2017.
The car comes with a 3-litre turbocharged six-cylinder in-line engine which results in an output of 460 hp (343 kW approx.), which is 10 hp (7.5 kW) more than that of M4 Coupe Competition Package. It is capable of speeding from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph).
Seven-speed double-clutch transmission comes as standard with the BMW M4 CS. It has a separate oil cooler. Shift paddles on the steering wheel can be used to change gears smoothly.
The links and wheel carriers at both the front and rear axles are extremely light since they are made from forged aluminium, resulting in a lap time of 7 minutes 38 seconds at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track.
The presence of dynamic stability control system ensures the best possible grip in all driving conditions. The steering and suspension settings of the BMW M4 CS can be configured as per requirements. One can also choose from Comfort, Sport and Sport+ driving modes.
The wheels (19-inch front and 20-inch rear) are made up of light alloy. They come with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres as standard, which provide a comfortable grip, optimum traction, and an excellent lateral stability at high speeds.
The interiors of BMW M4 CS create a sporting ambience. The seats are trimmed in leather and Alcantara. The door panel trim is made of compacted natural fibre. The regular door handles are replaced with pull loops. The bonnet and roof are made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic.
Automatic climate control, BMW HiFi system Professional, and Navigation system Professional come as standard in the car.
BMW M4 CS features twin LED headlights. The front splitter is made from exposed carbon fibre. The boot lid is adorned with exposed carbon-fibre Gurney spoiler. The brake lights are OLED. The car is priced at €116,900 ($125,000 approx.).
