Nissan, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, first introduced the Nissan GT-R sports coupe ten years back. Since then, this two door sports car has undergone major improvements and design upgrades. The New York International Auto Show 2016 marks yet another important milestone for this high performance super sports car with the unveiling of the 2017 version.
Just a glimpse of the car will make you realize that Nissan has given this car a thorough makeover. The new enlarged "V-Motion" grille is the talk of the town, which not only improves the car's aesthetics, but also enhances the engine cooling. The grille's matte chrome finish and new mesh pattern is pleasing to the eye.
It also receives a new hood with pronounced character lines. The bumpers too are reworked, giving it a pure race-car look and feel. The tweaks can be seen in the rear too with the four-ring tail lights, and quad exhaust tips with functional side air vents. Nissan has brought in these design changes not only to give it a fresh look, but also provide a value add in terms of enhanced stability at high speeds, while keeping 0.26 drag coefficient.
The premium interiors of the car is just exceptional in two tone black and orange, befitting of a sports car of its kind. Hand-selected Nappa leather with Takumi style precision can be seen wrapped on the steering wheel, instrument panel and seats. An 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with integrated navigation and audio controls can be seen in the central console. Apart from audio controls, the steering wheel also houses the paddle shift which just adds to the excitement.
Nissan GT-R 2017 would surely not disappoint in terms of performance. It is powered by 3.8-liter V6 24 valve twin-turbocharged engine that delivers 415 kW (557 hp) at 6,800 rpm and 467 lb-ft. of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. All these enhancements offer smoother gear shifts, and reduce noise.
Overall, this super sports car is an exciting buy with the new facelift and performance upgrades! It is expected to reach showrooms this summer.
