Musk has confirmed that the Model 3 has been pre-booked more than 325,000 times within the first week of its grand unveiling. This is equivalent to $14 billion in future sales. Also, only 5% of all the preorder buyers have booked two cars. Note that this is the maximum allowed limit per person. This effectively means that 5% people are looking to flip their booking for profits. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the bookings are non-transferable, while the token amount of $1000 is refundable. So those looking for quick bucks will have to first buy the car themselves, and then sell it as a used one!
