My routine for the day was quite exciting with the inclusion of the Mahindra Blazo HCV launch event at Lalit Ashok, in Namma Bengaluru. The cab arrived on time, and the driver was courteous.
En route to the hotel, there was the usual Bengaluru traffic, and then, l saw a blaring red light from the traffic signal and my cab came to a halt at the Anil Kumble Circle. A casual look towards my right window, and there it stood - a camouflaged vehicle. At first glance, I could clearly understand that this is an SUV, but maybe a smaller version of it. Out came my phone in a flash, and I captured a burst of spy shots of the right-front side of the SUV. Before I could capture some more pictures, the signal turned green, and the SUV sped towards Queens Road. My cab driver was no dud. He was quick to catch up with the SUV, and I then got some shots of the side and rear profile of the camouflaged test mule.
Towards the evening, on close analysis, we at MotorFry could decipher that the camouflaged SUV is indeed the much talked about Jeep Renegade that was unveiled to the Indian consumers during the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. To give an insight to our readers, Jeep is an iconic American brand that has been making SUVs, MUVs, Jeeps and other off-road vehicles over the past 75 years. During these years, it was acquired by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Their famous models include the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler Unlimited, Patriot, Compass and the Renegade.
